Synopsis
Episode 1: Kinomatograf Theater Erdberg, Wien 1912. Episode 2: Apollo Theater, Surabaya 1929. Episode 3: Cinema Sao Mamede Infesta, Porto 1930. In Gustav Deutsch`s most recent found footage work, the masses "absorb" (as Walter Benjamin put it) the artwork. Three historical camera pans across the streets and squares of Vienna, Surabaya and Porto provide a starting point for a reflection on the relationship of everyday stories and cinematic machinery.
