Synopsis
Dr. Michal Anděl is a Dean of the 3rd Medical Faculty of Charles University; he meets a large number of young people and often finds out that they don’t know much about the 1950s. Through his own memories he wishes to contribute to the fact that people won’t forget. His father, Jaroslav Anděl (D.Jur), was nick-named ‘the solicitor of the poor’ in prison, as he helped many fellow-prisoners to pen down their petition for pardon. He was imprisoned for the first time in 1957, when his son Michal was 11 years old. In this film Mr. Anděl recalls how he perceived the seizure of his father, the visits in prison, the mockery of his classmates, as well as the great shame that his family represented the very bottom of the society.
