Cine Eco - International Environmental Film and Video Festival

The Cine Eco - International Environment Film Festival of Serra da Estrela, takes place in the Municipal House of Culture of Seia in October each year. It was established in 1995. The festival offers various thematic sessions and parallel activities and the international, lusophony and youth competition.
The Festival annually receives more than 500 documentaries about environmental issues from more than 30 countries. Around 50 of them are selected for the contest.
The Festival pursuits to attract new audiences, sensitizing them to the cinema, its history and its esthetics. In 2006 the Festival received the National Prize for the Environment of the Portuguese Confederation of Associations of Environmental Defense. The Festival is currently a founding member of the Association of Environment Film Festival (EFFN - Environmental Film Festival Network), and performs several extensions throughout the country during the year.
