Olivia Ebertz is a director of sensitive and whimsical ethnographic documentaries. Splitting her time between New York and elsewhere, she uses language learning as a primary part of her ethnographic and artistic process -- it at once allows closer access to the culture of her participants and allows her structure her film like a love poem to language. Past films have screened in the US and abroad, including at Dok Leipzig, Brooklyn Film Festival and Flyway Film Festival.
