Borut Šeparović (1967, Zagreb, Croatia) has graduated in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the University of Zagreb, and from the graduate school at Das Arts in Amsterdam. His artistic biography is equivalent to the one of the group Montažstroj which he founded in 1989. Under Borut's artistic leadership Montažstroj became a trademark of a new and different theatre in Croatia and abroad. With his first documentary film Consumed (2014), he started transferring his ideas of socially responsible art into filmmaking. His second film project, Counterattack, is in the phase of pre-production. His creative process is firmly rooted in the belief that creating engaged theatre and art should always questions the society they are created in, far from the explicit daily political discourse.
