Born in New York, Roy Lekus moved to Paris in the 70 to complete his studies at the French Cinematheque. His first short film, " The living end in fine roasts ", got the grand prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, as well as at the Belfort festival in France. Married to the painter and sculptor Françoise Jolivet, he has made several documentaries on her work : "Anartchroniques, " (1983), "The Making of totems," (1994), "Ariadne on the thread" (2001), “The sobbing of autumn’s pumpkins” (2005), “The pumpkin alchemist” (2011- France 3).
