Marcin Giżycki (1951–2022) – art historian, film critic, director, and academic lecturer. He was the artistic director of the "Animator" festival and a lecturer in Katowice, Warsaw, and Providence (USA). He served as the editor-in-chief of the quarterly Animafilm and published books on film and art. He directed numerous films, including Island of Jan Lenica, Aquatura, and The Travels of Daniel Szczechura.
